Week 4 in Australia

I had a great week this week. I cannot believe my first block of classes is already over. Time is flying by here. I had a great weekend last week when I had the opportunity to explore Melbourne. While I love Sydney, it was great to see another Australian city. After being to both cities, it seems like Sydney is more like my home town of Los Angeles, while Melbourne is more like New York. Shay in Australia – Week 3

This week I had lots of opportunities to explore Sydney. My main goal was to visit the beach as many times as I could, as I did not have that many opportunities the first two weeks here. On Wednesday, I was able to take the ferry from Sydney Harbor to Manly beach. I was expecting to see some good views, but I did not realize that we would be passing the Opera house and the entire city. Shay Gillearn – Week 2 Reflection

This first week in Sydney, I have had many amazing experiences. First off, I found both of my classes to be very interesting. I am very interested in the history of Australia, so I found the Australian Life and Culture class very engaging. I was surprised to learn that the Australian natives experienced many of the atrocities that American natives experience. I was able to make many connections to what I had grown up learning about American natives. Additionally, learning about some of the famous natives such as Bennelong surprised me.
