Week 6 in Singapore

This week in Singapore I had the chance to attend a Bucknell alumni networking event at the American Club. The American Club is sort of like a country club, but without a golf course. The walls were covered with pictures of US landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty or the Golden Gate Bridge, which made me a little homesick. However, it was amazing to talk to so many alumni that now live in Singapore. As someone who might be interested in working and living abroad one day, it was great to get their view on moving away from the […]

Week 5 in Singapore

This week, I had the opportunity to explore the city a bit on my own. Most of my friends decided to travel to Phuket for the weekend, but I wanted to stay back to have some time to relax. Also, I was very busy with work this week so going on a trip would not have been a very good idea! The whole week I was able to help the full time Kaizenvest analyst with an investment memorandum for a possible new portfolio company. It was very interesting to see the early stages of a deal, and it was very […]

Week 4 in Singapore

This week in Singapore I had a more relaxed week at work. Since Wednesday was a public holiday, I was able to celebrate Tuesday night with my friends. We were able to go out to a nightclub called Marquee and see a really cool DJ. We ended up doing the exact same thing on Friday night, as another famous DJ named Tiesto was performing at Marquee again. While it may seem like a repetitive week, I had an amazing time. Tiesto has made some of my favorite dance/EDM songs, so it was incredible to see him perform live. The tickets […]

Week 3 in Singapore

This week was my third week in Singapore. I had a very good week at work and continued to improve upon my financial modeling and presentation making skills. I have also gotten much closer with my fellow intern, who goes to school at Villanova. I think it is incredible that I now have so many connections from other universities and across the world. On Tuesday, it was one of my friend’s 21st birthdays. For his birthday, we were able to go to a restaurant called Lavo, which is on the roof of the Marina Bay Sands. The food was incredible, […]

Week 2 in Singapore

This week was my second week in Singapore. At this point, I had lots of time to settle into my new living and working situation. I am also starting to get to know my coworkers at Kaizenvest better. This week, we had the opportunity to all hang out after work and socialize outside of the office. It was great to get to know everyone and make connections that will last me for the rest of my life. Aside from socializing outside of work, I had the opportunity to work on some complex financial modeling for a live deal. It was […]
