Singapore Week 1

Within the first couple of days in Singapore, I had to visit some of the main tourist attractions like the Marina Bay Sands! This hotel is even more stunning when seen in person at night. I was able to catch the light show that occurs every night! There are a couple nice restaurants at the top level which I am excited to hopefully try at some point during my time here. Another very noticeable thing about Singapore is that it is incredibly humid and hot at all times of the day! The start to my internship has been a great […]

My *Final* Adventure into Aussie Land – Week 9

Spring break has arrived!! This week was an excellent celebration for finishing up classes successfully over the past 8-weeks in Sydney. I will limit the many highlights of the week to my top two. These were scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef and skydiving. Both of these were lifelong dreams of mine. I have done a lot of scientific research in the past on the declining health of the Great Barrier Reef, so I was ecstatic to finally see it in person before it deteriorated further. It was stunning, but sad to see the health of the reef with […]

My Adventures into Aussie Land – Week 8

The final week in Sydney and classes ending was a sad realization. I made sure to take full advantage of the last week by efficiently studying at night and planning day trips on the back end of the week. I went to two places that I was constantly recommended to go to. These were Watson’s Bay and Palm Beach. I went to both of these places alone to seek out breathtaking hikes followed by relaxing on the beach. Both spots had scenic views, with lighthouses overlooking their respective beaches and bays. I was even able to see a sea plane […]

My Adventures into Aussie Land – Week 7

Week 7 consisted of one of the most memorable moments of my abroad experience so far. I was able to witness SailGP racing as they had their Sydney race during the weekend. This is a thrilling sport where sailboats that are 50 feet long and built for speed race in different spots all around the world. These boats can go up to 60 mph and I have been following the USA team for the past couple of years. Being able to witness these boats in person was a special treat, and I even got some merchandise for team Australia. Each […]

Adventures into Aussie Land – Week 6

During Week 6 in Australia, I embraced local experiences and ventured into new activities that left a lasting impression. One standout moment was embarking on an early morning sunrise run from our Pyrmont accommodation. As I traced my path towards Bondi Beach, the sight of dawn unfolding before me was truly invigorating. Completing the run, I stumbled upon a charming Crepes corner shop, compelling me to indulge in a delicious breakfast treat. Eager to seize the moment, I even took a refreshing dip in the ocean before catching a train back for my 9 am class. With its rejuvenating allure, […]

Adventures into Aussie Land – Week 5

Week 5 in Sydney was a vibrant tapestry of connections with Bucknell Alumni and explorations of the surrounding areas, including the enchanting Hunter Valley. On a memorable Friday afternoon, our class had the privilege of meeting Tony Massaro, a distinguished Bucknell Alumni, at his firm’s office. His captivating narrative traced a remarkable journey from his days in ROTC at Bucknell to his current role as a Partner at KordaMentha Real Estate in Sydney. Tony’s story illuminated the profound rewards of diligent effort and strategic risk-taking throughout life.Beyond his professional trajectory, I was particularly enthralled by Tony’s passion for running, having […]
