During this week, I felt more adventurous in my appetite and choose experiences that were further away from Darling Harbour. I had the opportunity to eat at the Nichi Getsu Do ramen restaurant and the Park Hyatt’s Living Room restaurant. Nichi Getsu Do is a little ramen shop just several blocks northeast away from Darling Harbour on a smaller side street. Josiah Kwok – Week 3

On our second full day in Melbourne, a few of us had the fortune of participating in the walking tour led by Lucky. Lucky, who was enthusiastic and informative, was also a bartender! He made a few recommendations of where to go for drinks and what kind of establishments to look for: speakeasy-style bars tucked away on shady looking alleyways off side-streets hidden upstairs leading to rooftop bars and rooms with cool interiors. Josiah Kwok’s Week 2 Blog

This week, some highlights I had were going to Coogee Beach and La Cueva Superclub party. With Wednesdays free in the afternoon since I did not have class, my roommate and I decided to join some other friends at Coogee beach. We left at 2:30 pm and took a 30 minute ride to get there by 3:00 pm. Josiah Kwok’s Week 1 Blog

One thing Northern California and Sydney area shares are beaches. Both are cliffy with stunning scenic views. Surfers are out riding on waves and groups hang out on the sand. However, the similarities end there. In the San Francisco Bay Area, where I am from, the water is cold all year long and swimming is usually avoided. Surfers often wear wetsuits to prevent hypothermia. However, the waters of Bondi beach were warm and excellent for swimming and no wetsuit is needed for surfers.
