Grace Kim Week 4 in Australia

This past week consisted of yummy food and cool views! Our apartment celebrated the start of the Lunar New Year by going to the Chinatown Friday Night Market! We got to eat various skewers, from chicken to fish tofu and pork rib. The market was extremely crowded that night as many people were out celebrating the holiday as well. Grace Kim – Week 3

This past week I finally went to Paddy’s Markets! It’s a super big marketplace that has so many stalls with everything you could ever think of. From fresh produce to keychains, there are shoes, leather products, an assortment of souvenirs and even more. It is a maze in there and there is so much to see and look at. It can be very overwhelming at times, but the prices are really nice and it is a great place to buy souvenirs for family and friends. Grace Kim – Week 2

This past Friday was Australia Day! I was glad to be able to be here for this day as we had been learning about it in our Australian Culture and Life class. It is a controversial day, especially with many in celebration and many in opposition. We had originally wanted to go see the Sydney Opera House at sunrise, as there was aboriginal work being reflected on it, but we unfortunately slept through it. Grace Kim – Week 1

One of my favorite things to do back on campus is to sit outside. Whether it be doing work, reading, or just talking with friends and watching the sunset on the quad, I really enjoy being outside and admiring the nature around me.
