Ned Smith’s Week Six Blog

This is my sixth full week in Sydney and so far no complaints about the city. The classes I am taking during this 4-week block are harder than last block. In my Organizational Behavior class, we use case studies to provide real-world examples of the concepts we are learning. I don’t know much about OB or used case studies before, so I am learning a lot. We have a midterm in OB this upcoming week and I am not really sure what to expect. I am also taking Individual Federal Income Tax, which is being taught by Dr. Alexander. I […]

Ned Smith’s Week Five Blog

This week was the first week of new classes: Organizational Behavior and Individual Federal Income Tax. I do not have classes on Mondays which is a change in pace because I had Fridays off during the last 4-week block. This Friday we got the chance to meet with Bucknell Alumni, Anthony “Tony” Massaro, who is a Real Estate Partner for KordaMentha in Sydney. Over the weekend I went on a Wine Tour in the Hunter Valley with the rest of the students from Bucknell. Our meeting with Tony Massaro was in his office in the city. His office was on […]

Ned Smith – Week 4 Blog

This week was not too eventful, but I got the chance to explore Sydney and got to visit a very cool jazz themed pub. In the Financial Decision Modeling class, we learned about the basics of finance and how to apply equations to help make decisions. Furthermore we got to […]

Ned Smith Week Three Blog

This week in Australia, I got to learn more about the Australian identity and over the weekend we went on a trip to the city of Melbourne. I feel like I am starting to get used to the weather here. It is always humid in the morning but generally sunny and hot in the afternoons. It rained for the first time yesterday which was a welcomed change in temperature. I am almost halfway through my time in Australia, and I feel like there is still so much to do. Sydney itself was not a planned city so much of its […]

Ned Smith Week Two Blog Post

Welcome to my second week blog post! This week was just as exciting as the last. I have gotten the chance to further explore Sydney and find more fun things the city has to offer. The weather in Sydney is great although at times it can get very hot (95 or above). The mornings are always humid but it tends to dry out in the afternoon, making every day a great day for the beach. On Tuesday I visited Bondi Beach which is about an hour away via public transportation. I had been hesitant to use the public transportation and […]
