This week was a very gula melaka filled week of food! Gula melaka is essentially palm sugar, and has been something that I’ve come to enjoy very much. It definitely is sweet, but a different version of sweet! I got gula melaka milk tea, gula melaka coffee, gula melaka kueh, and a coconut shake with gula melaka sago. I highly recommend and is something that I will be searching for back home.

The highlight of this week was the trip to Phuket! A beautiful island of Thailand, we were able to visit Maya Bay and the Phi Phi Islands! The water was a bright blue and we were able to see monkeys on Monkey Island and go snorkeling twice! While it was incredibly overcrowded with tourists, it was a beautiful area of the world and an amazing experience being able to visit a dream place of mine!

The food in Thailand was of course, absolutely delicious! We tried many Thai classics, like pad thai and tom yum kung and pineapple fried rice (in an actual pineapple!). The dishes were so good and so affordable. We also ate a lot a lot of mangos, in all forms. Mango sticky rice, mango smoothies, and mango slices! They were home to some of the most amazing fruits!

To continue this food train, I got to eat a lot of different foods this week, from prawn hokkien mee to rose udon with karaage! Lexi and I also tried cow-cow ice cream, which is a soft serve of milk and cheese flavors. It was definitely a unique taste but I liked it more than I thought I would!

Officially can count down the days we have with both hands, which is a thought my brain cannot fully comprehend yet. As excited as I am for Korea, I definitely will miss this entire experience and living in Singapore.
