This week at work, I continued my work on the income commission policy. I met with the team overseeing the process, and interviewed a member of the retail department to gauge their involvement with products that are charged income commission in attempts to find out if the work they are doing with these services is fair compared to the fee the customer is charged. I also continued to work on FATCA work with the accounting team and discuss next steps for preparing the report. I also drafted a document to give feedback to the business intelligence team about what problems there were with the tax data and how this can be avoided or improved with a future system upgrade.
This week was also my co-intern’s last week in the office. To celebrate, the finance team went out to a group lunch at a Thai restaurant a short walk from the office. My roommate attends the same college as my co-worker and left to go home this week as well, meaning there are only 7 students left working in New Zealand. It was sad to see them go and was a reminder to me that my semester abroad would also be coming to an end very soon.
