My friends from high school and I had always talked about going to Thailand for our senior trip. Unfortunately, because of COVID, that trip never happened. I knew when I signed up for this program that getting to Thailand would be super easy and something I had to do. This trip was one of the first I booked while here!
My friends and I landed in Phuket around midday. We checked into our resort and then searched for somewhere to have dinner. We watched the sunset before going to eat by the beach. After a delicious dinner, we walked along the beach at night. There were surprisingly many people out there with the same idea. Since our resort was very close to the beach, we walked back. Despite the short distance, it was really scary since there were very small sidewalks and cars driving very close to where we were walking. We finally made it back and went to bed before our early day on Saturday.

We met our driver in the lobby of the hotel. He then drove us to the marina, where we checked in for our Phi Phi island-hopping tour. We spent the next eight hours exploring five islands, stopping to see caves filled with monkeys and Viking art. We had a buffet lunch and many fresh fruit options while we made our way to each island. The boat stopped twice to allow us to swim and snorkel. One of the crew members guided us to where we saw baby sharks! At one point, the fish were swimming into me! Despite it being a long day in crazy heat, it was so relaxing, and the islands were all beautiful.

We went back to our resort for dinner and to get ready for the night. We booked tickets to see a cabaret show. The energy of the performers was ecstatic, and the costumes were extravagant. It was a really fun and energetic show!

On our last day, we checked out of the resort and made our way to our tour. We were picked up and taken to an elephant sanctuary, where we fed, walked, and bathed elephants! It was crazy to see them up close! They all had funny personalities, splashing us with water and kissing us with their trunks! After we said our goodbyes to the elephants, we made our way to the Tiger Kingdom. Here, we visited the tigers and got to pet them! It was actually kind of scary how large they are! We then, sadly, made our way to the airport to return to Singapore.
