This weekend, I took a bus up north into Kuala Lumpur to see my uncle and little cousin. The two of them were in the area to see family and were happy to have me!
When I arrived, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I hadn’t really heard anything about Kuala Lumpur up to that point. In lieu of that however, I was then greeted with the coolest pair of buildings I’ve ever seen in my entire life. The tallest twin towers in the entire world, the Petronas towers!

The dazzling white lights of the tower was incredible to see. Not to mention the absolutely massive mall that the building is a part of. The tower and its surrounding locale seemed to paint a very strong story of the city itself, one marked by numerous construction sites and rampant growth.
The next day, however, was my favorite day of the trip. We went to Batu Caves! A Buddhist temple with monkeys everywhere! It was genuinely an incredible sight, especially with how comfortable the monkeys were with humans walking around them. It was funny how the monkey’s tried to steal my stuff as well. Apparently monkey’s in public places have adapted and learned to steal things from humans in order to bribe people with food to get their items back.

On the morning before I left back to Singapore, I took a trip up to the very top of the Petronas towers: the 87th floor to be precise. I found it so interesting how the towers was built with two separate designers working together, both using Arabic architecture present in mosques to create a building that’s pays homage to tradition while being perfectly modern in it’s own right.
