This past weekend we went to Bali~
It was hands down one of the most beautiful places I have been to. We had two tours during the weekend, one in Ubud for the jungle and rice terraces, as well as culturally more enriching. The other was in Nusa Penida, an island off the coast that had beautiful beaches. We were able to walk along the rice terraces, swing through the jungle, try many different flavors of coffee, and walk amongst the monkeys! We also got to enter many of the temples and learn that there were thousands of temples just in Bali! It is at the center of their communities and an integral part of how Balinese people live together in community.

The tour in Nusa Penida brought us to many viewpoints and beaches that the island is known for. Most famous is Kelingking Beach, which almost looked like a sleeping dinosaur. When we went to Dinosaur Beach, we had to climb down the side of the cliff and use a rope (which was actually kind of scary, but so worth it). The views were beautiful and I would 100% come back to Bali for a longer period of time.

During the days leading up to Bali, Lexi and I made a trip to the top of the Marina Bay Sands to see the sunset at the observation deck. It was amazing being able to take in Singapore from that high up, and to walk around to get different views. After we went to the top of Marina Bay Sands, Lexi and I got Din Tai Fung! We were led by a robot to our seats and the dim sum and wontons were so good. To complete the meal, we got cookie soft serve and Famos Amos cookie toppings as dessert, which I will be going back for.

And of course, a week in Singapore would not be complete with delicious foods! I tried mala hotpot for the first time, which was spicier than I thought it would be but tasted so good. It was fun picking out the ingredients and toppings I wanted to include and choosing the soup base. I also visited Birds of Paradise twice, because their gelato is just so good. The flavors are unique and not too sweet, and while it is on the pricier side, I must try all of the flavors before we leave. I had been seeing soy bean drinks everywhere, in malls and hawker centers, so I thought I would give it a try! I got the chendol soya bean drink and it was pretty good- the gula melaka flavor from the chendol was definitely overpowering but still a nice refreshing drink in Singapore heat.
Hard to believe that we are already nearing the end of our experience in Singapore, the weeks are definitely flying by so fast 🙁
