This week was fairly uneventful. I continued with my normal FATCA, income commission, and fee protect assignments at my internship. I had my first meeting with someone on the FSS team in efforts to value the time and effort that is put into customer accounts that are charged income commission within the FSS team. I still need to talk to the accounting, retail, and IT teams before I have a close to complete understanding of the true effort and time that justifies this commission fee.
I didn’t do much this weekend. My roommates and I had planned to complete the Tongariro Crossing, which is almost 20 kilometers long, as well as hike Mount Ngauruhoe in the process. We ended up postponing this hike because the weather was pretty rainy all weekend. Instead, we decided to check out the aquarium. We also had a catch-up dinner with GAV. We ate at a pub where I got a chicken sandwich. Most of the group of students showed up, and it was nice to get together with everyone for the first time since arriving. I’m looking forward to an eventful next week, as I will be heading to Queenstown for 5 days.
