WEEK 10

My first week in Singapore! Week 1 in Singapore was super busy as this was our first week of work. On Monday morning we headed to the Ministry of Manpower to fill out our forms and received our visa to work in Singapore over the next two months. After this I went into work where I was able to meet two people on my team and get set up with everything for the job. I spent the day learning more about the company and about what I would be working on here.

Tuesday through Friday I continued to come into work. Everyone was super welcoming and would bring us out to lunch which was really nice. I was able to learn a lot more about Singapore and meet a lot of different people during this week.

On Tuesday night I headed down to Marina Bay Sands to see the famous building. It was really cool because they had all the lights on the building which we were able to see. It was then super hot and we decided to go find some food to eat for dinner. We ended up at a hawker market where we got some dinner and tried out some new foods.

On Thursday, we went to the Singapore vs. China soccer game. I believe this was a preview for the World Cup but I do not know a ton about soccer so it was fun to go and watch. The two teams ended up tying which was surprising because China was expected to win.

Saturday, we headed to Sentosa for the day. Unfortunately I overslept so I missed the cable car with the rest of the group but was able to go straight to the beach there. It was really hot so we grabbed some breakfast and then decided to go in the water. At the beach they had a blow up obstacle course on the water called Hydro Dash. There was no one else on it that day so we were able to take over the whole course for most of the day. We then headed over to a restaurant with a pool and swim up bar where we stayed for the rest of the day before heading home. Sunday was a reset day for me before starting my second week of work.
