We arrived in the early morning hours of Sunday March 17 to our accommodation. At 9 am, we had an orientation with the GAV Singapore team and learned about important things about Singaporean culture, like chope-ing (placing personal items on tables before grabbing food to reserve a seat at food courts and hawker centers). We then had a group lunch at a pasta place.

On Monday, I began work. I went to the office at 9 am to go do some onboarding work. In the afternoon, I went to the Ministry of Manpower for my Working Holiday Pass appointment. The office views were really beautiful and so were the views at the Ministry of Manpower.

On Thursday, we had a catchup-dinner at an Indian restaurant in Little India. Food was very delicious and spicy, and I think my spice tolerance has significantly increased since then because most “spicy” items in Singapore no longer sting much.

On Saturday, we went to Sentosa Island, re-claimed land that is a popular weekend getaway for Singaporeans. I did not have a particularly good time there since I found the beach to be very underwhelming. It was man-made and had loads of container ships in the backdrop. But, I may return another time with a plan to hit some of the other paid attractions that seem quite interesting.
