Grace Kim Week 4 in Australia

This past week consisted of yummy food and cool views!

Our apartment celebrated the start of the Lunar New Year by going to the Chinatown Friday Night Market! We got to eat various skewers, from chicken to fish tofu and pork rib. The market was extremely crowded that night as many people were out celebrating the holiday as well. The food was affordable and there were many cool stands selling anything from key chains to crochet dolls and frog beanies.

The next day, the actual day of Lunar New Year, we went to Hai Di Lao for hotpot! It was a fun experience with one of the workers stretching out the noodles in front of us, the food was delicious, and it was fun to cook the food in front of us.

I also went on a spontaneous walk called the Hermitage Foreshore Walk. I was aiming to go to the Sydney Harbour National Park and stumbled upon a pathway that happened to be for the walk. The views were amazing, with many smaller beaches like Milk Beach and Shark Beach being along the way. The greenery and the blue waters were amazing to experience and it was a nice leisurely walk.

Something I’ve wanted to do ever since we came was to see an outdoor screening of a film by the Sydney Harbour. The movie screen was set against the background with the water, bridge, and the Opera House. It was timed to be after sunset and the film was a good pick for the overall vibe of the outdoor theater at Westpac Openair.
