Week 4 in Sydney

This week marked the final week of the first block of classes. I had an individual presentation and a 1500 word final reflection for my Australian life and culture class as well as a 2500 word group report and a final exam for my financial decision modeling class. All assignments went well resulting in good grades in both classes. Aside from this, I prepared for my first day of next week’s first class, business law. This class seems to involve a lot of reading but no other assignments. I am excited for the first day of class to see what the next month of this course has to offer.

This week I also received good news that my work holiday visa was finally approved for New Zealand. Figuring out which country I would do my internship in was an ongoing issue throughout the course of this trip due to extenuating circumstances regarding my travel to Singapore, so I was very relieved to hear this news. On top of this, I also got an interview set up with the Aukland Public Trust next week for my internship. I think this place aligns closely with what I’d like to do after graduation and can provide some seriously valuable experience for the future. A picture of the trust is seen below.

Since this week was so packed with school assignments, I did not do a whole lot of exploring. Myself and a few other Bucknellians managed to make time to visit Watson’s Bay which was my favorite beach yet. Aside from the beautiful beaches and calm waters, there were amazing walking trails close to the beach we were at. We took a ferry to and from, and before leaving, had some food from one of the beachside restaurants in the area. Other than this, I enjoyed Sydney’s night life on the weekend as the end to a successful week. I am looking forward to the start of new classes and what the second half of our time in Sydney has to offer. A picture of my roommate and I at Watson’s Bay is seen below.
