Australia Week 3 – Michelle Gonzalez

I started off the week with a sunrise walk from Bondi beach to Bronte beach. We woke up at 4am and left our apartment at 4:30am, Nicole Salantay and I walked 15 minutes to town hall to catch a train to Bondi junction. It took two trains and a bus to get us to Bondi just in time before the sun rose. We ended up sitting on a rock and watching the sun come up. We then walked back to Bondi and got a big breakfast. Then we had to swim. We promised ourselves to do this every week at least once.

Before the weekend in Melbourne Me and my roommates went to this beach I found and it was life changing! I could not believe something so beautiful exists. It was the most turquoise water i’ve seen so far. There was no waves so it was perfect to swim in and it had so many fishes to swim with. As well as a cafe on the beach to get a smoothie or salad while having a beach day. Truly the best hidden gem.

That same night we met some friends at this amazing jazz club. We got to dress up all fancy and classy and got to visit the coolest place i’ve ever seen. The bartenders were very kind and so knowledgeable. I wasn’t sure what I should get but the bartender asked me a couple questions and made the best drink I’ve ever tried. It was so cool to see people dance and listening to live music. And when the jazz players left they only played records which definitely made the vibe.

Now Melbourneeeee!!! We were all so excited to get to the new city. We were very hungry so we decided to walk around the city and see what caught our eye. We saw many restaurants but many were closed since we got there so late. We also came across many expensive restaurants so we wanted something cheap but good. We saw this menu outside this building and saw that their items were fairly priced so we decided to go in. There was an elevator so I was excited to see what the restaurant would look like. The restaurant is called Kiss and Tell. And let me tell you it was so fancy. It was so beautiful in there. We were all so surprised and we decided to stay. It was a tapas style restaurant so we can all share but we decided to get our own small and large plates. They were absolutely amazing everything we ate was spectacular. The waiters were also so nice and accommodating. It was great hidden restaurant. Definitely an amazing experience the first night there.

The Next day we got to visit the great ocean road! It actually reminded my a lot of California. We you drive dow the coast it looks so much like this. It was so beautiful, the water was so blue and crystalline. It was a really long bus ride but it was definitely worth it. I loved being able to visit this part of Australia and see the wildlife all around. We all got to get down from the bus and see a koala on the side of the road. I wanted to take some shells home but I was informed it was illegal to take pieces of the ocean with you abroad. So I had to throw them back. We also got to learn a lot of Australia’s rich history during the ride and Lastly we visited the 12 apostles which was so impactful. It was incredible how something like that exists. I saw so many caves and the water looked truly un touched. It was so beautiful.
