Australia Week 2 – Michelle Gonzalez

To start off the week a couple of friends came over our apartment and we had a family dinner. Our friend Manolo made us vodka pasta and Nicole made us garlic bread. My contribution was the chicken cesar salad. It so amazing being able to cook in our kitchen and share it with our friends around us.

The next couple days we had class and I had a couple of hours between my classes so I decided to visit the mall on my own and see what I could find. It was really interesting, the target here looks like a Walmart or honestly slightly abandoned. There was a lot of empty space and no red anywhere. This mall was really interesting because it had straight escalators with no stairs. I didn’t end up buying anything but all in all it was a great time for me.

I always get very excited for Wednesday’s because my global Management professor takes us out to his favorite restaurants around the city. This week he took us to a restaurant named “Kura Kura” it was so amazing. The menus were on tablets and I decided on a ramen bowl which was amazing! We also found out that someone had paid for our meal at the restaurant which was so nice.

On Thursday we had a blast being able to only have one class in the morning and being able to go to a beach. We decided on Balmoral beach based on a recommendation from our Uber driver. It turned out ton be my favorite beach we’ve been to by far. It was so calm and there was no waves so people could easily snorkel. There were a lot of fish and very clear waters.

This week was also Australia day so we headed down to manly Beach by taking the ferry and it was so beautiful. We walked so much this day but were were a little sad it was so windy and cloudy this day.

Then to end off the Australia day weekend we did an Australia themed pub crawl with lots of different people that some were backpackers and others were students from different countries. it was so much fun spending time with my classmates and roommates. We all got to wear Australia flag temporary tattoos.
