Another week here in beautiful Sydney Australia and it keeps getting better and better! This week I became much more settled in and comfortable in my new environment. I felt as if I was not visiting as a tourist but more that I lived here and could get into a routine. My roommates and I spent a lot of our time at the beach this week which was great because it was so sunny and was a great time to relax. Our first beach we went to was Coogee beach. It was the perfect amount of crowded and the water was amazing to swim in. We even had the opportunity to climb and jump off of rocks into the water with other Aussie kids. It was surprising to see how fearless they were, but I guess they have been doing things like this their whole lives. Pictured below is the amazing Coogee beach and the best acai bowl I have ever had in my life from Coogee Espresso Café.

Another highlight of my week was our long walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach. This is a very popular costal walk where you get to see a variety of beaches in Sydney such as Bondi, Tamarama, Bronte, Clovelly and others. It was about 3 miles long, but we stopped almost every 50 yards to take pictures because it was so beautiful. We saw so many surfers which was cool and we also saw a dog beach. Something that I have noticed here is how well behaved dogs are and how many of them are allowed to roam without leashes. This walk was just another example of why I love Sydney so much because of how you can explore the beauty of the country and its beaches while being outside, socialize, and getting movement in. Below is a photo from the beginning of the walk which started by the Iceberg pools at Bondi Beach. It was amazing to see this famous view with my own eyes and I am looking forward to hopefully spending more time there.

Australia Day was Friday of this week and it was amazing to be in Sydney to celebrate it. We spent the day at Manly Beach, which was so crowded since it is a public holiday. We laid on the beach and swam in the water for hours. It was over 100 degrees so it was back and forth from the sand to the water for a while. We ate snacks and sandwiches on the beach, listened to music and talked all day which was such an amazing way to spend it in the sun. We took the ferry back to Circular Key and we sat in the front so it was extra windy and bouncy which made for a fun ride. We showered and got ready for dinner where we went to Sydney’s Oldest Pub in the Rocks, which was super crowded especially since it is close to where the fireworks go off over the Opera House, which we were able to see from afar. It was fun spending time with friends and recapping the week. Pictured below is me and my roommate Kate at the Pub!

Stay tuned for more updates from my adventures in Australia!
Cheers!
