Week 5 in Singapore

This week, I had the opportunity to explore the city a bit on my own. Most of my friends decided to travel to Phuket for the weekend, but I wanted to stay back to have some time to relax. Also, I was very busy with work this week so going on a trip would not have been a very good idea! The whole week I was able to help the full time Kaizenvest analyst with an investment memorandum for a possible new portfolio company. It was very interesting to see the early stages of a deal, and it was very satisfying at the end of the week to see the finish product after putting in so much time. On this project, I was able to work on lots of different aspects, such as financial models or analyzing potential risks of the transaction.

On Friday, me and a few friends that did not go on the trip decided to have some fun and go to a trampoline park. I hadn’t been to a trampoline park in years, so I was very excited to go. When I was there, I learned how to do a backflip, something I had always wanted to do. I also was able to do an American Ninja Warrior style obstacle course, which was very challenging but fun at the same time.

On our way back from the trampoline park we stumbled upon a festival, and we went to check it out. It turns out that it was a celebration for Singapore Thanksgiving. There were lots of decorations and people dancing. It was a very interesting cultural tradition to experience, and I’m glad we randomly came across it!
