Singapore Week 2 – James Hudson

This week we had our second meeting in person after finishing off last week virtually. We met at the 1880 meeting space downtown and were given a project to complete for the next week virtually. After work, my friends and I went to our first hawker center, Maxwell. I was blown away by how much food you could get for $10 Singaporean dollars ≈ $7.00 USD. I got a side of 12 dumplings and a serving of fried rice with a chicken cutlet over it. The food was delicious and there were so many different stands serving different foods. After eating we brought our dishes to the dump area and got onto the train that was right next to the food centre.

This week we were also lucky enough to go to a dinner with another one of our friends parents. We had dinner on the top of the 57 story Singaporean staple building, The Marina Bay Sands at Spago. The food was delicious and it was very nice to see my friend’s parents who I know pretty well. At the top of the MBS I was shocked to see how many cargo boats were waiting to get into Singapore. They lit up the night and looked as though to be apart of the Singapore skyline.
