Spring Break has finally come! A week in Cairns, Australia after finishing up our classes was awesome. We checked into the hostel, Gilligan’s and immediately went to the pool. The pool was unreal with a basketball court, pool volleyball, and a huge projector playing any sports game that were on.
The first activity we did on Spring break was go to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures. We saw loads of crocodiles, getting to take a boat around Australia’s biggest crocodile inclosure and even getting to watch a crocodile feeding which was unreal. We also got to see our second koala of the trip as well as other native Australian animals that were incredible to see.
The next adventure was snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef. I always knew the Great Barrier Reef was massive but did not know it was the size of Italy. The weather wasn’t great causing a pretty bumpy ride out there but below the water was incredible. Even on a gloomy day the coral looked to be glowing the colors were so vibrant.
The next day we went to Fitzroy Island which was by far the most beautiful island I have ever been to. The beaches were made of dead coral making for a painful walk barefoot but the beautiful weather, breathtaking views, and perfect water made it all worth it.
