Nicole Salantay-Singapore Week 4

Over the weekend, Michelle and I decided to take a quick trip to Malacca, Malaysia. We took a 4 hour bus ride up on Saturday morning, stayed the night, and then returned Sunday evening. We ate on Selat Avenue, explored the Malacca Strait Mosque, and the Jonker Night Market. Jonker Street was packed with tourists purchasing all different types of foods and trinkets. We got a couple honey lemon drinks to refresh us while we explored the street. There were also very cool temples and places of worship near by that we were able to check out.

Sunday morning, we got some breakfast at a very well-known cafe called the Daily Fix. We had the most delicious chocolate peanut butter pancakes that were unforgettable. We got to explore more of the downtown center in Malacca and visited historical sites such as the church and the Dutch Square. There was a lot of cool history in the town so we just wanted to walk around and observe. We passed walked along the river and saw some very beautiful artwork on the sides of the buildings. Overall, our weekend trip to Malacca was incredible and I really enjoyed getting to experience a different culture.
