This week in Sydney was amazing. The weather is perfect and the people are so friendly. I got the opportunity to go on a group tour of the opera house, and visited a very cool speakeasy bar with my friends. It has been almost two months in Sidney and it is almost time to leave. I am going to miss this place so much. I have made good friends and had so many great experiences. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I am going to make the most of my last few weeks here.
The tour of the opera house was super cool. I went to see a play with my mom last week, but we did not get the chance to see the whole building. The tour was very informative and we got to visit most of the theaters and the backstage areas. There are two main theaters, the concert hall and the opera theater. The concert hall is the biggest and has the best acoustics. The architecture of the theater is very unique and our guide explained that every part of the building was designed to be functional and beautiful. The concert hall itself is made out of wood and has grooves in the walls to help with the acoustics. The opera theater is similar in design but smaller and painted black. One interesting fact was about the roof of the building. The roof is made out of white tiles that are self cleaning. The tiles are designed to be washed by the rain and the wind. The tour was very interesting and I learned a lot about the history of the building and the people who work there.
After the tour, I went to a speakeasy bar, old maids place, with my friends. The bar is hidden on the fourth floor of a building and has a rooftop bar as well. The bar had a very cool 20s vibe and the drinks were amazing. There were many different types of cocktails and the bartenders were very skilled. The bar is known for its cheese steaks and I can confirm that they are really good.
I am looking forward to my last week in Sydney and am kind of sad to leave. I have had such a great time here and have made so many good memories. I am going to miss the people and the weather. I am going to make the most of my last week here and try to do as much as possible.
