Week 11 was our second week here in Singapore. After getting adjusted to everything I continued to head into work Monday to Thursday of this week. On Monday after work, I headed over to meet a friend after work. From here we stopped at a hawker station to pick up some dinner. We then decided to head over to Gardens by the Bay. Every night they have a cool light show so we walked around the garden for a while and then headed over to watch. It was so pretty and a must see spot here in Singapore so it was so fun to go check it out.
Wednesday was my friends 21st birthday! So on Tuesday after work I went and walked around the mall to look for decorations and some snacks to decorate her room with. Then on Wednesday a group of us headed out to dinner at a hawker market to celebrate her birthday. Later in the night we found a Karaoke place where we could rent out a room. We did not stay too long but it was a fun activity to celebrate her birthday.
Friday of this week was Good Friday and the start of Easter weekend. For this weekend the group of Bucknell students headed to Bintan Island. This is an island which is part of Indonesia, but a quick ferry from Singapore. We left early on Friday and headed to the ferry terminal. We arrived mid day to Bintan and checked into our rooms before going to our group lunch. It was a nice resort with a pool, lots of restaurants and activities. I spent pretty much the whole weekend at the pool. They also had a beach there but there were jellyfish so I was more hesitant to go in the water.
On Saturday night we went to a seafood restaurant on the resort. We took a shuttle to get here. It was a nice spot over the water with a floating bar to go sit at as well. They brought us chicken, crab, fish, and other assortments to try. We also watched the sunset when we arrived which was super pretty. On Sunday, we went in the morning to get massages at the resort. They were super nice and gave us tea when we got there too. Then we headed back to Singapore before work started again on Monday.
