After a great 8 weeks in Sydney, we finally made it to spring break in Cairns! My friends and I decided to rent an Airbnb for the first five days of the trip and were able to have a great time together in a beautiful house. Each day was jam packed with excursions and various activities that we were able to do with the greater Bucknell group! One of the best excursions in my opinion was snorkeling the great barrier reef! Although it was a early wake up and quite the journey to get out there, it was well worth it. The journey out there was about two and a half hours through the roughest waters I have ever seen! Somehow I made it out there without getting sea sick as well! We were able to see beautiful fish and coral, definitely a check on one of the boxes on my bucket list! Attached below are some pictures from the trip.

Later in the week, we visited the nearby Fitzroy Island. Me and two friends completed a two hour round trip hike to the peak and safe to say that it was well worth it! I was able to take in some of the most beautiful views that I have seen in my life. After taking the hike, I was able to spend my time relaxing on the most beautiful beach that I have ever seen. Crystal clear waters, white sand, and amazing scenery was all around me. This day was definitely my favorite of the week. Below are some pictures from the amazing day

We also spent two days at Gilligans backpacking resort after our time at the Airbnb was over. We were able to experience some pure backpacking culture as well as some of the nightlife that Carins had to offer. After an amazing 9 weeks in Australia, I am definitely sad that it is over, but am also excited for all the amazing experiences waiting for me in Singapore!
