G’day! Its official… our last week in Sydney Australia! I tried to spend my last days here at the beach, mostly Bondi. I really enjoyed visiting Bondi especially because as a kid I’ve always watched the TV show Bondi Rescue which is a documentary show about the lifeguards and the beach. I’ve seen plenty of camera crew at the beach and even thought about making a scene to make it on the show (don’t worry Mom, I didn’t!). It is also finals week here! I was a little nervous at first but after lots of studying, I am confident I will do well! I had a long paper due for my organizational behavior class that I have been working on for quite some time! My professor, Kyle, was quite open to the idea of letting the students create their own format of paper which I was very new to. My peer and I created a long essay with pictures about Patagonia and some questions regarding their structure and leadership. In my federal income tax class, Professor Alexander gave us a final test that was take home. Thankfully, she made it open notes which gave me an upper hand as I write down absolutely everything said in class! I believe that both of my finals went well and am excited to get my grades back! Coming to Australia, I had known that kids in different programs were taking pass fail classes and I can’t deny I was jealous of them. Being abroad is about taking classes in a different perspective, however its also about exploring the world. After my time here, I am happy to say I’m glad my courses were not pass fail as it motivated me to work hard and thanks to my wonderful professors, I was able to get the grades I strived for! All in all, Australia has been a blast and I highly recommend that everyone travels here at least once in their life. The culture is absolutely incredible and everyone is so friendly! Something that most people don’t know about Aussies is the amount of slang they use! For example, “I’m chucking a sickie,” means that I’m skipping work/class to go surfing at the beach. I will be headed to Cairns next week for spring break which I am super excited for!
