Week two! I was quite scared coming to Singapore as it has a reputation for being insanely strict! I have to say, I have been an upstanding citizen, not to say I wasn’t in Australia, but the punishments are very unsettling. A simple fine is between $500-$5000. A higher punishment is a long period of jail time or public lashings… After that, I think you get the idea of what the upmost punishment is. I have promised my family to keep my friends and self in check so don’t worry! Work is going smoothly! I can’t lie, it is long days and long weeks. I work from 8:30 to 5:30 five days a week with a half hour commute each way. I know this doesn’t seem too bad, however when my roommate is completely virtual and wakes up at noon everyday, it makes me jealous. Some of my friends have had their parents visit them so we have been going to dinner with them which is very nice! The city here is absolutely beautiful and I can gladly say I am enjoying it here! I’m not going to lie to the readers and say I like it more than Australia, however it is way better than I thought it would be! All in all, life could be worse! Fun fact: Eating out here is much cheaper than cooking which is amazing as I don’t cook much! The food is very cheap, however everything else is very expensive. A trade off I will take! I am trying to plan some trips with friends soon to Indonesia, Malaysia, and more! I will keep everyone posted and give some recommendations! Take care!
