Hello y’all! This is my first week here in Singapore and I have to say, it is pretty cool here! I got a haircut with my pal James to get all set for work! Its a lot of walking here and the MRT is very confusing but I’m sure it will get easier with time! My first day of work is quite interesting! UL Solutions is a cool company! Kate and I are working under the marketing and innovations team, more specifically as consultants in the TIC (testing, inspection, and certification) sector! We get assigned projects where we analyze competitors and what they have been up to and report to our coworkers and boss! Our team is about ten people who are all very fun and friendly. They are super interested to hear about what life is like back in the states and how Australia was! It’s quite crazy to realize how different our lives are as I grew up very outdoorsy as a fisherman and lifeguard, where some of my coworkers haven’t experienced that! We always get lunch together and talk about absolutely everything. We might talk a little too much politics but I’ll keep my opinions to myself! Other than that, I can’t wait to get a larger feel on how Singapore is as a whole! All the people are a little overwhelming but I’m sure I will get used to it! I’ll keep everyone updated as I get accustomed to it here!
