Week 2

WEEK 2!!!
Welcome to week 2 of my Australia blog. This was our second week here so I am starting to feel settled in and used to my new life here. It has been so much fun to continue exploring and learning more about the city this week. This week was nice as we had fewer planned excursions so there was some more time to relax and enjoy the city on our own time.

The majority of my week Monday to Thursday consisted of class time and working on group projects. On Wednesday night I spent some time with friends but other than that I spent most of my free time going on walks through Darling Harbour or working out. My Tuesdays and Wednesdays are always super busy as I have a morning class from 8:00-11:30 and an afternoon class from 3:30-7:00. However on Wednesday my Global Management professor took us out to dinner at a local Japanese restaurant called Kura Kura. I got a Poke Bowl here and was able to spend time with some of my classmates.

On Thursday I only had a morning class so after this I went to the beach with one of my roommates. It was a very cloudy day so we didn’t think we needed much sunscreen (big mistake) and ended up badly burnt by the end of the day. So Friday I took the time instead of laying out at the beach all day to walk around Sydney and look around some shops before meeting up with some friends at Manly Beach later in the afternoon. Friday was Australia Day which is similar to our 4th of July in America so there were lots of events going on around the city. For dinner, we headed over to The Rocks district and ate at the oldest pub in Sydney. We even got to see lots of fireworks for the celebration.

For the weekend, we had a relaxing day on Saturday. I went grocery shopping and took a long walk in the afternoon before ending the night with some Gelato in Darling Harbour. And to end off the week we did the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk and ended up at the Coogee beach for the rest of the day. Overall it was such a fun week and I still can’t believe I am here. This upcoming weekend we are headed to Melbourne so stay tuned for more adventures in Australia!!
