Week 12: Singapore

This week went by pretty quickly. My work was quite intense, with me being onboarded to a new project while still working on the two I originally was given. I spent much of the week very tired from work and the never-ending heat. The only exploration I did was for dinner. My friends and I met up after work to walk around and get dinner. We found ourselves in Chinatown, looking in all the pop-up booths, before heading home to relax and do some work.

I did not feel well on Friday, so I spent the day doing my meetings from home. I spent a large portion of the day lying down. I went to bed early and, thankfully, woke up feeling better.

Saturday morning, my roommates and I went to a cooking class. With just us being the ones that showed up, it was a very calm and personalized experience. I had tried to take a cooking class when I was in Barcelona but was unable to due to time constraints. This experience exceeded my expectations and the laksa we made was amazing!

On Sunday morning, us students had a tour of the orchid gardens at the Royal Botanical Gardens. I have never seen so many variations of orchids! The tour was stunning, despite the immense heat. We had lunch after the guided tour, and it was the perfect thing to refuel. I finally tried chili crab dip, a classic Singaporean dish! I felt so stuffed after lunch that my friends and I walked around the gardens a bit more before heading back home. I had a couple of chores to do before the week began, so I did those quickly before some friends came over to hang out. We played card games and then went out to dinner. While walking back from dinner, we saw an arcade and spent a couple of hours playing games! The evening was very fun and the perfect relaxation before the start of the work week.
