My ninth week on this trip was definitely one of most action-filled weeks of my entire life! One that just so happened to coincide with my twenty first birthday! So let’s get started with our first important excursion, that being diving in the great barrier reef on Sunday the 10th of March!
To say this day started spectacularly would be a lie… The boat ride to our destination on the stunning great barrier reef was not easy by any means. The weather was rough to the point where all my experience being on boats did nothing to soothe seasickness. It seemed like every person on that boat was fighting to keep themselves from keeling over from how unsteady the boat was. I was honestly amazed with how I managed to hold out, although thankfully I’d like to say the experience that proceeded it made the trip worth it.
I had always dreamed to see the great barrier reef with my own two eyes. I’m happy to say it did not disappoint me in the slightest. The feeling of being in the water felt great with the full swimsuits and flippers. It was incredible to see so many multicolored coral, fish, stingrays, and more across the ocean floor. It almost felt like I was in another world entirely.

The next day we went on a trip through many sights of the jungle, including my favorite spot of the entire trip. The Millaa Millaa falls! Swimming underneath the waterfall has to be one of the coolest things I’ve ever done! We also happened to get a double rainbow on our drive there! I’d like to think that led to good luck which allowed us to get sunny days from Tuesdays onwards.

On Tuesday we went to “Hartley’s crocodile adventures”. As you have likely gathered from previous blogs, I absolutely adore everything related to animals. So I naturally loved this place to death.

On Wednesday we had our finale excursion in Cairns before two free days. We went to Fitzroy island, a idyllic place where we could relax after the hustle and bustle of the previous few days. While I loved the other excursions, this really gave me the feeling of “This is how spring break should be.”

the last two days in Cairns were our free days, the second of which was my twenty first birthday! While I don’t have any pictures from those two days, it was the first time in years where I felt like I actually celebrated my birthday. My friends even made food for me in the morning!
Overall, this week has been one of the greatest blessings in my entire life. It was a nonstop thrill ride, one which I will happily remember as I go into Singapore to work.
