Once again, there were many yummy foods consumed this week. I tried some drinks that were recommended to me, like the bandung which tasted like cereal milk. Got many bobas and this blueberry drink with lots of whole lychee in it!

To balance the drinks– the food! I tried more hawker centers this week, and the highlight of the food I tried was popiah! It looks almost like a spring roll, but has a crepe-like wrap and is filled with veggies and this crunchy peanut topping. The sweet chili sauce that was paired with it was delicious and I would definitely come back for another!

Lexi and I ventured over to the Botanical Garden! The park itself is so big and we could not see it all, but we will definitely be back. It was great to walk around and take in the beautiful nature that contrasts the city that we live in. We encountered lizards fighting and many turtles swimming in the pond. The greenery is something that I really enjoy in Singapore.

Another tourist attraction is the merlion! Fun fact, Singapore actually means lion city, as the first person to arrive claims to have seen a big lion. The merlion is representative of Singapore, and the statue was a lot bigger than I thought it would be.

We went on a day trip to Malaysia! We took a combination of the bus and train into Johor Bahru, and it was an amazing experience filled with amazingly priced delicious food. Started the day off with a $0.50 lychee pie from McDonald’s. We then went to a 100 year old bakery that sells the most soft banana cake (aka banana bread). This was followed by some exploring of the local area and a nice mani-pedi to treat ourselves. The sushi here was amazing and this bowl was only $7 USD! Will definitely be coming back for these prices!
