Our first full week in Singapore is complete! With the start of the internship and exploring this new, unfamiliar city, the time has gone by so fast.

One of the main highlights of the week has been our team lunches. A couple of times this week, our team went out for lunch together! There has been a diverse range in cuisines, from Japanese to traditional Chinese, and delicious desserts in between. Outside of these team lunches, I was able to explore many of the hawker centers in the area and try out new dishes that are amazingly delicious, and priced so nicely.

Another highlight of Singapore has been the city itself. The location of where we are staying has been so convenient and nice. I wake up to see the sunrise every morning from out bedroom window, it is so beautiful. There are so many large shopping malls in the area, that are a mere 5 minutes’ walk away, very dangerous for my wallet.

Lexi and I went to go see the light shows at the Marina Bay Sands, which turned out to be more wet than it was displaying lights. It was still a wonderful experience and I would definitely go back for another light show. The Supertrees at the Gardens by the Bay was the true highlight of light show experiences. The tall, beautiful trees are decked out in lights and during the show, there was music playing that the lights were coordinated with. There was also an amazing view of the Marina Bay Sands from the garden, and going there is definitely on my bucketlist!
