This week didn’t hold anything out of the ordinary in terms of classes. In business law, we learned about employee law and laws surrounding different types of business structures in the United States. In my tax class, we had a guest alumni speaker from UBS visit and talk about his experiences as a working professional in Australia and South-East Asia. With finals coming up next week, I plan to start reviewing the materials we’ve covered so far in both classes to prepare.
Over the weekend, myself and five friends decided to take a trip to the Blue Mountains to do a hike. We took a two hour train ride to the national park and got some burgers before starting the hike. As soon as we got there the views were stunning. I’ve never seen mountains like these in my life. The descend into the valley at the start of the hike took us straight down the side of the cliff. After a few kilometers of trail we began to see some of the waterfalls that flowed down off the mountains. At one point we went off the trail and did some swimming around the largest waterfall we found. Throughout the hike we also saw some Australian wildlife like the lizard seen below and some birds. On the way up out of the valley the sun was starting to set and the mountains looked even more amazing. After this hike, I’m looking forward to doing more of it in New Zealand and checking out the views it has to offer.

After this hike, I was pretty burnt out for the rest of the weekend. The next day I only visited a couple smaller bars and also got some really good Japanese food. I’ve really enjoyed the food from various cultures that Sydney has to offer. With my last week in this city coming up, I’m realizing how fast this time here seemed to go by and how much I’ll miss it, but I don’t think New Zealand will disappoint and I’m excited to see what that country has to offer.
