Nicole Salantay- Sydney week 6

Almost everyday in Sydney is a beach day. There are so many different beaches and coves to explore all along the coast line and its very exciting to explore them all. This beach is on Watson Bay and it was absolutely stunning. We could see the entire Sydney skyline from the cliffs and it was really unique to get that view from the other side. They had this little kiosk there that had many different kinds of snacks and smoothies. With the weeks quickly counting down, I know that the beaches are what i’m going to miss about Australia the most.

Friday, I went to Bondi and stayed there for sunset. Around 5pm, there was a little bit of rain and I knew that the skies would be absolutely beautiful because of the clouds. We walked along the cliff walk to the highest peak of the rocks and we saw the most amazing view. The water looked like glass, the skies mimicked cotton candy, and the birds were singing. The storm was still rolling out over the ocean and we could still see lightning strikes from so high up. The moon came up after a beautiful sunset and it was brightly shining over the shore. I felt so lucky to be able to experience such a stunning sunset and I was thankful that I waited out the rain!

Sunday, I went to Coogee beach to explore the beach, the cliffs, and the little shops around. After laying on the beach all day, I went to a Mexican style restaurant to get some good food. On the way home I missed the bus stop and accidentally ended up going the opposite way of central station. I ended up walking back to Darling Harbour because it would have been faster than taking public transport and I stumbled upon this festival. I wasn’t sure at first the nationality of the group but the musicians were so talented so I stayed hear them play. Then, looking at all the food trucks I realized that this was a Greek Festival! I didn’t know that there was such a big greek population in Sydney and I was really surprised by their sense of community. Everything happens for a reason and I was really happy that I got lost on the bus that day!
