Week 5 Reflection

This week, I started a whole new block of classes. As I said last week, I cannot believe that I’ve already been in Sydney for over a month. While I greatly enjoyed my first block of classes, I am very excited about learning more about Federal Income Tax and Business Law. The first block of Aussie Life and Culture and Financial Decision Modeling were interesting, but these two new classes are more relevant to my major. So far, I am greatly enjoying Business Law. I have always been interested in law, but have not had the opportunity to study it at Bucknell. BLaw seems to be the perfect intersection of my interests in both business and law, so I am excited to continue in this course.

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to explore the Australian wine industry when we toured two vineyards in the Hunter Valley. These tours were some of the most interesting things I have done so far in Sydney. Coming from California, I grew up learning about the Napa Valley wine industry. I had also learned about the wine industry from other countries like France. However, I had no idea that Australia had such a large wine industry as well. It was interesting to learn that the majority of the wine produced in these two vineyards are sold domestically rather than exported to other countries.

Overall, I had a great time this week, and I am looking forward to the next three weeks in Sydney.
