Week 3 in Sydney was full of excitement. My group presented the super app GRAB and their rise to success in Asia for my Global Management class. James Hudson, Dylan Guass, and I put together an amazing powerpoint detailing both the good and the bad business decisions made in the past. We also highlighted what we thought the future looked like for GRAB. As they have already penetrated the major cities in Asia, we question if the margins will decline as they grow into less populated areas.
After our presentation, our professor took us to a local UTS cafe to grab a bite to eat. Our professor is an avid sailor and I enjoyed talking with him about his sailing adventures around Sydney. I am looking forward to an experience on a sailoat or going on a boat to fish at some point in the next couple of weeks.
The week finished off with a wonderful trip to Melbourne (pronouced Mel-brn). The highlight of the trip was our bus tour of The Great Ocean Road. Our very energetic and talkative tour guide was set on giving us knowledgeable insight throughout the ride. My two favorite stops were in Opollo Bay and The Twelve Apostles. The pictures I have added are mostly from The Twelve Apostles. We were fortunate to have a beautiful sunny day to visit. Although it is called The “Twelve” Apostles, there are actually only eight left standing.
