Lunar New Year in Aussie

Week 4 entailed the end of Block 1 classes. While I am excited to start Block 2, I thoroughly enjoyed both Australian life and culture and global management! After both of my written finals, my roommates and I celebrated the Lunar New Year. Since our accommodation is very close to Chinatown, that celebration involved a bunch of amazing food! We walked through the night market on Friday night, stopping for both food and little trinkets. I had the crab balls with garlic aioli—one of the freshest pieces of crab I have ever eaten! I also bought my sister a little homemade crochet keychain. Afterwards, I walked to Darling Harbour, waiting for the drone and light show. Unfortunately, due to the rain, it was postponed.

We made reservations for a hotpot near Darling Harbour and Chinatown for lunch. This was my first time trying hotpot and I was not disappointed! We got a large assortment of meat, vegetables, and noodles, which we shared across the table. A worker even came out and put on a show involving dancing while making homemade noodles! Basically, it was lunch and a show!

Our last stop for the Lunar New Year was dessert. We couldn’t decide what to get, so we all split Bing Su and some brick toast!
