Week 2 in Australia

During my second week of the trip in Sydney, Australia, I had the opportunity to delve into the rich history of the country and explore linear decision models, which captivated my interest. The learning experience was not only informative but also intellectually stimulating.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I had the chance to present a dataset on the Big Mac index. It was a challenging yet rewarding task that allowed me to apply my knowledge in a practical setting.

For leisure, I and some friends decided to explore the beautiful beaches, primarily taking the ferry for a convenient and scenic journey. The iconic views of the opera house and the bridge were truly breathtaking. Attempting to surf at the beach added an adventurous touch to the trip, even though the waves weren’t ideal, and we had to be cautious of blue bottles to avoid any stings.

A personal highlight of the week was reuniting with an old rugby teammate for dinner and drinks. It provided a wonderful opportunity to catch up, reminisce about shared experiences, and exchange stories about our respective journeys since we last met.

Sydney’s culinary scene also left a lasting impression on me. I had the chance to savor delicious meals at some notable restaurants and explore the city’s vibrant nightlife by visiting interesting bars. As a bonus, plans were in motion with friends to venture to Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, adding an exciting prospect to my overall experience.

All in all, my second week in Sydney has been a perfect blend of learning, adventure, and reconnecting with old friends. I look forward to more explorations and experiences as I continue to immerse myself in the culture and beauty of this captivating city.
