This week, some highlights I had were going to Coogee Beach and La Cueva Superclub party.
With Wednesdays free in the afternoon since I did not have class, my roommate and I decided to join some other friends at Coogee beach. We left at 2:30 pm and took a 30 minute ride to get there by 3:00 pm. We mostly spent time traversing the rocky terrain on the Northside of the beach to make it to the giant boulders and pool at the bottom of a cliff. It made for an incredible sight with waves crashing on the boulders and little waterfalls into the pool. However, it was hard to climb on the boulders as they were covered in barnacles that felt like many small LEGO pieces. I ended up cutting my legs by accident and many times almost slipping. But to get the photos, I had to carry my phone as I try to not trip in the water or slip on the barnacle-covered rocks. But at the end, it was very much worth it. Once we got photos taken and enjoyed the boulders and natural pool, we headed back to the main beach. Shortly after, it began raining and we decided to leave as it was 5 pm. We took public transport back: a bus and the light rail, which was very convenient.
On Thursday night, I joined many others in going to the La Cueva Superclub, a Latin music party. We got there around 10 pm, and it was pretty dead since it was early. We first went downstairs before heading upstairs. The two parts of the club were separated from each other and having to go through separate entrance checks. We started most of the evening upstairs where it was more of a bar setting where we danced and had fun. As it got later, more patrons showed up and we headed downstairs. Unfortunately, we had to wait in a line to get back in. Once in, it was crowded and a full on nightclub. A DJ was present and the dance floor was filled with people. It was an excellent way to start the weekend.
This weekend was quite fun as we were able to go to explore different places on our own and experience areas of Sydney away from more touristy areas.
