I finally made it to Sydney after a 16 hour flight full of naps and movies. I was excited to just get off the plane and see what was waiting for me. Little did I know I would be having one of the best weeks of my life. At first I was little nervous of not getting along with my roommates but thankfully we all get along really well. We actually all have been going around the city and discovering which will be our favorite beaches, restaurants, bars, and even our favorite grocery stores.
The heat at first threw me off a bit. I was expecting a sunny dry climate but was surprised at the humidity. It took my hair a couple days to adjust but we’ve got it under control. The sun here is also very extreme. some of my roommates got very burnt after Bondi beach. Even the sunscreen wasn’t enough. But even the sun wasn’t going to stop the fun we had. The water was so clear and so warm. We walked along the beach and found man made ocean pools that had tiny fish in them. It was the most beautiful experiences of my life.
I really enjoyed the GAV excursions we did this week. The informational tour of the rocks district was really great I loved learning the history of Sydney and walking around historic landmarks. Me and friends even went to the oldest pub in Sydney.
Sunday was one of the best experiences ever. I got to touch kangaroos and emus. I got to take pictures with a koala and try Australia’s national meal. The sausage sizzle. It was really great. I honestly love it here.
